Mirrors

We make and supply many different mirrors.  Whether you need one as cut for a frame, or a design finished one for a decorative look, we are likely to be able to make one that suits any wall.  We also hold stock of many popular standard sizes in the shop that are ready to take away.

 

All our glass mirrors are made with copper free moisture resistant high quality silvering and low lead protective paint layers. The silvering gives a superior reflection, that is not only practical and long lasting, it also enhances any room.

 

All mirrors are usually made from UK or EU produced stock sheet manufacturers.  Silver mirrors are available in 3mm, 4mm and 6mm thickness.  In addition to standard silver mirrors we can provide Bronze and Grey tinted mirrors which come in 4mm and 6mm thickness, Pink and Gold tinted mirrors which come in 4mm thickness, plus premium hand crafted Antique mirror that has an aged oxidised look in 4mm and 6mm.

 

For a little extra they can also be made safe from splintering with a safety backing film (not adhesive compatible), or can be protected from premature corrosion in humid rooms with foil backing (fully compatible with same adhsive tested on all our mirrors including: Soudal Mirror Adhesive, Xtragrip Mirror Adhesive, CRL Mirror Fix Adhesive, or Bondit Mirror Adhesive).  Backing can be added to any mirror during production if wanted; just let us know.

 

If the edges are not being covered within a frame then the sharpness would need to be removed for safety and so it doesn't look rough/chipped.  Edges can also be fully polished for an even neater look, or have a decorative bevelled chamfer processed.  Having just the sharp edge removed is most cost effective so ideal if on a budget, and perfect for any location where the side edge isn't easily seen (for example if being fixed in a recess, between tiles etc.). A full polish is ideal if all the edges are very visible and a neater finish is wanted; as the edges are fully ground before being buffed up to a nice polish, as 2nd picture on right (or below if using small screen).  Or bevelling gives a decorative chamfer if preferred, as 3rd picture on right (or below if using small screen). Mirrors can also be made with leaded edge, for un intrusive border decoration.  We use 99% real lead with a hard wearing protective coating in a silver, darkened or brass finish.  Or they can be combined with colour and obscure effects for a stunning colour/obscure border mirror, or a decorative design can be added too.  We can also bond bevel pieces within the lead for with a large variety of design possibilities. 

 

We also stock standard size processed mirrors in the shop.  These are cheaper and quicker than making a one with edge-work to order.  Just check out or standard size mirror page for more information.

 

Plus we also have limited stock size framed mirrors, and can get ones in various sizes that are made in UK.  Feel free to contact us if there is something specific you are after, or pop in to the shop to have a browse if preferred.

Finally please be aware the we currently do not make electric light mirrors, or have the facility to carry out any re-silvering to old mirrors.  Although we can get demister heat pads suitable for our mirrors, which protects an area 20% larger than the pad itself from steam.  They are self adhesive and easy to fix to the back of a mirror, then after being wired to the light switch by a qualified electrician give a clear area to view in any steamy bathroom when the electric is on.  Note due to limited demand we do not stock these, but can get them within a few days.
